QUALITY OF LIFE
Our research will include a quest for ways to improve the quality of human life within in ways that do not run counter to the principles of our role as vice-regents of the environment.
Thus, areas of interest will include urban development; transport; food production; energy production and other areas that are necessary to sustain and improve life yet have little or no negative impact on the environment. An example might be the construction of housing from locally sourced materials of high heat insulation and cooling those accommodations by ingenious use of natural sources, for example wind towers and the utilisation of natural shade, understanding of the weather and architectural vegetation.
This was apparent in Persian and early Islamic architecture and coupled with modern knowledge and science could be given a new dynamism driven by understanding.
